In 2014 WRTP/BIG STEP expanded its services to provide training opportunities for careers in construction and manufacturing in Madison and the greater south central Wisconsin area. Committed to helping recruit, prepare, and funnel a diverse population of workers into family-sustaining careers throughout Wisconsin, WRTP/BIG STEP leverages its strong community and industry partnerships to address some of Madison’s most serious challenges.

WRTP/BIG STEP’s primary objectives include strengthening pathways for both youth and adults to careers in construction and manufacturing, providing community outreach in the form of career exploration and assessments, and promoting a multi-generational approach to addressing poverty and inequality at the neighborhood level.
